Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who entered the small screen with Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2000, will soon be back with the new season of the show.

According to an online entertainment portal, the set for Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 is being worked upon which means the shoot might start soon. The report further says, Big B has given 17 days to the show, 10 in August and 7 in September. Kaun Banega Crorepati came at a time that marked the changing phase in Indian TV and Amitabh Bachchan led the show to the stupendous success it enjoys today.

As KBC’s host, Amitabh Bachchan was an instant hit with masses and the game show too benefited from his immense popularity. The show that started in 2000, has completed 14 years and will see season 9 next year. And though the money is definitely a lure, the biggest reward for the contestants seems to be the chance meeting with their favorite star that the show provides them with.

Recently there were reports that KBC might have a female host.
