KBC & Amitabh Bachchan
Yes definitely. KBC is what with which AB made his television debut and it was a grand success. And that sucess is continued till now with eight back to back successful seasons (3rd season was done by SRK though) and ninth season on its way.
AB was going thorough tough time financially as his business venture was a failure and KBC’s success surely helped him come out of it(along with films like Mohabattey and income from advertisements).
Although he is all time superstar of Bollywood, with other stars making their way through industry and AB’s growing age diluted his magic at some level and his films weren’t as much success as his old films like Don and Shahenshah(although he stared in some very good films like Baghban, their success can’t be compared to films of his younger time). So in this situation his back to back successful KBC seasons helped him to be in market and proved that he still rules the hearts of public.
Edit : Although it is also true that AB played major role in making KBC what it is today.
